Hotel: A Journey of Renewal and Redesign
The project revitalized a 30-room hotel, combining modern design, clean lines, and natural materials with a nod to the iconic and nostalgic charm of the place.
The Design Concept
The design concept draws inspiration from the natural elements — air, water, earth, and fire.
Air – An element of freedom and openness, allowing guests to breathe, relax, and escape.
Water – An element of healing and renewal, bringing a sense of calm and tranquility.
Earth – An element of stability and grounding, creating a sense of peace and belonging.
Fire – An element of energy, igniting passion, warmth, and inspiration.
These elements are seamlessly woven into the hotel’s design concept, reflecting a natural essence that enhances the guest experience. Each element is intentionally integrated into the space, connecting to the beauty and energy of the surroundings.
The Result
Exterior – The redesigned concept includes wraparound balconies that invite guests to connect and experience the natural surroundings. The 30-room hotel, including two accessible suites, seamlessly blends modern luxury with a calm, laid-back atmosphere.
Interior – Each room is thoughtfully designed with custom millwork that integrates essential amenities: a built-in TV, mini bar with an integrated fridge, coffee station, concealed air conditioning, a comfortable sofa, and a makeup/work desk. The result is a refined yet practical space that fulfills the owner's vision while enhancing the guest experience.
Materials and Color Palette – The selection of materials and colors draws inspiration from the four natural elements in the design concept. Locally sourced pinewood is used for flooring and millwork, grounding the aesthetic in the stability and foundation of the earth element. Curated lighting introduces fire into the space, adding vibrancy, warmth, and dynamic energy. Soft, flowing Egyptian cotton sheets offer guests a cool, refreshing embrace, promoting calm and renewal—reflecting the soothing and healing nature of water. Finally, the strategic layout of the rooms fosters openness, intuitive functionality, and natural flow, capturing the freedom and lightness of air.
Together, these elements create a harmonious and immersive experience that feels both organic and refined.

Custom Kitchen Design Project: From Vision to Reality
Where Practicality Meets Aesthetics -Precision Kitchen Design
As part of my work as a Senior Designer at Ziv Kitchens, I met an architect client with a clear vision and specific desires. From our first conversation, I immediately connected with her and fully understood her needs. The process began with in-depth planning, while keeping both the functional and aesthetic aspects in mind. However, it quickly became clear that there was a significant gap between her wishes and the practical limitations of the space.
The Design Concept
The foundation of this kitchen design was built on the perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality. From the very beginning, the vision was clear—creating a space that blends elegance with maximum practicality for everyday use.
To achieve this, we carefully selected materials that combine a luxurious appearance with high durability. The layout was meticulously planned to maximize efficiency, seamlessly integrating smart storage solutions and ergonomic elements. Every detail, from the choice of finishes to the lighting design, was thoughtfully curated to create a harmonious and inviting atmosphere.
This concept not only brought the client’s vision to life but also resulted in a timeless, functional, and stunning kitchen that perfectly aligns with her needs.

Staff Housing Design
The project was thoughtfully designed to create comfortable and functional living spaces for the staff, offering a true sense of home. Beyond meeting basic needs, the design considers the well-being, privacy, and daily routines of the residents, while reflecting a deep understanding of the local community’s character, culture, and unique needs.
The Design Concept
The design of the staff housing on Fire Island was driven by the need to create a space that balances functionality, comfort, and a strong sense of community. The goal was to ensure that seasonal workers not only had a place to stay but a home where they could relax and recharge after long workdays.
To achieve this, the design incorporates clean lines, natural materials, and efficient layouts that maximize space while maintaining an open and airy feel. Smart storage solutions and multi-functional spaces were integrated to enhance practicality, ensuring that every inch of the residence serves a purpose. The use of durable, weather-resistant materials was essential to withstand the island’s coastal climate, ensuring longevity and ease of maintenance.
Beyond practicality, the design fosters a warm and inviting atmosphere, encouraging both social interaction and personal privacy. The thoughtful blend of private rooms and communal areas supports a harmonious living experience, reflecting the new owner's vision of elevating staff housing to a higher standard. The Challenge
Designing staff housing presented a unique set of challenges—balancing space efficiency, functionality, and comfort within the limitations of the property. The goal was to create a living environment that would suit staff needs while maintaining a welcoming, home-like atmosphere.
One of the main challenges was planning a layout that includes 14 rooms, each shared by two residents, without compromising on privacy or comfort. Smart storage solutions, multi-functional spaces, and precise spatial planning were essential to achieving this balance. Additionally, the design required durable materials and construction methods suited to changing environmental conditions.
Beyond the functional aspects, the project also aimed to encourage a sense of community while respecting the need for personal space. Every design decision was made with the staff’s well-being in mind, creating an environment that supports both relaxation and social interaction. Through careful planning and innovative solutions, the new owner's vision came to life—transforming the space into a functional, comfortable, and long-lasting home.
The Result
The result is a comfortable, functional, and well-designed living environment that offers residents a true sense of home. Every element was carefully considered to balance privacy with social interaction, supporting a pleasant and supportive daily routine.The rooms are well-organized and efficient, the communal areas are welcoming, and the materials are durable and easy to maintain. The entire space reflects a respectful approach to residents' well-being—setting a new standard for staff housing.
